Maddie –This beautiful Lab mix girl is one very lucky girl. She was literally snatched by 2 volunteers from under the nose of a broker who takes unclaimed dogs from a MI shelter and sells them to a research lab.We shudder at the thought.Lucky Lab was contacted and Maddie is now enjoying life in a wonderful foster home with lots of love and attention.
Maddie is about 9-10 months old and has a beautiful shiny jet black coat with a pure white patch on her chest along with white toes on all 4 feet. She is a beauty at about 70 lbs.Her personality is gentle and loving and she gets along great with kids, adults, other dogs and even the kitties.Maddie spends her time playing in the yard with her foster sister and brother, just romping, playing catch and all the things that happy Labs do.After playtime, it is crash time on her doggy bed with her new buddies.Maddie is housebroken and very well mannered. She is also crate trained and sits on command. All she needs now is a home and family to call her very own.
Maddie is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on her vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped.She would do wonders in obedience class as she is very smart and eager to learn. We are sure she would be at the top of her class.Maddie would do well in any family situation. Please indicate Maddie in the notes section of the online application, if you think you are that family.
Meet Gomer. He ended up in a shelter when his owner did not want to assume any financial responsibility for treatment of his injury. At the shelter Gomer was immediately seen by the vet who determined he does have a slight right medial nerve injury in his left front leg.He has been treated and is now fully recovered and his injury should not affect him in any aspect of his life. When you meet this boy, you will see nothing slows him down and he gets around as if he had never had an injury.
Gomer is around 2 years of age and appears to be a purebred black Lab.This guy has a fantastic Lab personality and stable temperament. He is average size and weighs about 65 pounds.Gomer loves people and has typical Lab energy. He walks well on lead, loves to play and run around the back yard and enjoys getting good boy pats.Oh and he LOVES treats, people and other canines. We don’t know about the kitties but we can cat test him if needed.Gomer will do well in many situations and homes since he well behaved. He would make and active person or family with older children (only due to his size) a wonderful companion.
Gomer is housebroken, up-to-date on his vaccinations and heartworm negative. He is also current on heartworm and flea preventative and will be micro chipped before going to his new home.If you would like to give this handsome and wonderful boy his forever home, please complete our online adoption application and request him the notes section.
This handsome and regal boy is Dash (Adoption Pending).Dash is currently looking for his forever home.He has the typical story –He and his buddy George found themselves picked up as strays in a rural area of KY.They both ended up in a higher-kill Animal Control facility.Sadly, he and George didn’t stand much of a chance at the shelter because he was black and a Lab mix. They are a dime a dozen in that area. This being a shelter we work with often, once we saw the two boys, we knew we had to give them a second chance at life.
Dash is about 8-10 months old, weighs around 55 lbs and is a lovable little guy.He is consider a high-Lab mix but his coat is a bit longer and has some brown undertones.Dash gets along great with his foster brother Hanz who is older a Lab and is eager to meet anyone new whether canine or human. His foster mom has done a great job of socializing Dash with lots of people. He would do great in any situation or home. For a puppy, Dash is very laid back and submissive and loves to cuddle up next to his foster mom.He walks well on a leash and loves to chase birds, chew on toys or wrestle with his brother Hanz.He has puppy energy but can calm down and mellow out.
Dash is crate trained, mostly potty trained and is currently working on learning to sit. Dash is neutered, up- to-date on vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is currently on heartworm and flea preventative and has been micro chipped. If you are interested in adopting this lovable cutie please complete our online adoption application and request Dash in the notes section.
Meet curious George. He is a sweet Lab mix boy who is eager to please and is up for trying anything once.He is still a puppy so he likes to explore everything and everywhere and gets very excited to see his foster mom. He likes his foster brother too who is a Lab/Great Dane mix. He is a really good at sitting too, especially before breakfast and dinner. He is a cuddlier and smiles a lot too. He will go in his crate but a Kong helps! Overall, he is a sweet boy with a lot of loyalty and love.
George is around 8-10 months of age and currently weighs about 50 lbs.He will not probably be more than 60-65 lbs when fully grown.George is housebroken and crate trained. He loves to spend time at his favorite doggie day care.He also likes to spend time outside in the fenced yard watching all the birds and other critters. He is learning to walk well on lead and is very friendly to every one he meets, human or canine.George would do great in any situation or family home.He would also make a great companion for a single person or couple.
He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and is micro chipped. He is also on heartworm and flea preventative. If you would like to make this special pup a member of your family, please complete the online adoption application and request him in the notes.
Meet Saint.Whoever named this boy was on the money. This boy is such a great, gentle, lovable boy.We believe Saint to be a Lab/German Sheppard mix.He is tall and lanky, weighing about 65 lbs and is approximately 2.5 years old.He has a beautiful face and an even better disposition.Saint is okay with cats and has been socialized with men, women and older children. He gets along great with his doggie friends, but really just prefers to be with the 2 legged kind.
Saint is very gentle and mild mannered, but certainly has enough spunk to get up and go.Saint appears to be house trained and knows a few basic obedience skills (sit, shake, and walks well on lead). He takes treats nicely and really loves the smelly yucky kind (bill jac liver treats, yummy, but highly disgusting). This boy will make a great family dog or a companion dog for a single person.Saint is heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations. He also is micro chipped and is current on flea, tick and heartworm preventative. If you need a Saint in your life, please fill out an online application and request him in the notes section.
Bogey desperately needs a home. He is currently still with his owner and LLR has agreed to help this boy out and is helping out with his medications. His owner can no longer take care of him due to personal reasons and cannot afford his medications any longer. Here is what she has to say about him:
“Bogey is a 9 year old beautiful deep chocolate Lab, he is very sweet, loves little kids and has never shown any kind of aggression towards other animals. He has lived with cats and other dogs his whole life. We have had him since he was a pup, we absolutely adore him. It is tearing us apart to have to do this, he was recently diagnosed with diabetes, and I am new divorcee after 25 years of marriage. I just cannot care for him properly. Bogey loves to swim-ponds, lakes, creeks, pools or even a big mud puddle will do!
He is house broken, and has had his shots from the time he was a pup. I pray he finds a gr8 family to love & care for him, because I am quickly running out of options. He needs a shot every day of insulin and is a real trooper about it, so much just want him to live the rest of his life, we are the only ones he has ever known-I just can't bear the thought of the other choice I would be left with.” If you are interested in adopting Bogey or would like more information, please either complete our online adoption application or send us an email.
Gracie is a Lab/German Short Hair Pointer mix.She is approximately 6-7 years old and is a very nice girl.Gracie is an average size for a big girl weighing about 65 lbs.She is very mild mannered and loves to be around her people.Gracie does not do well with the cats but gets along great with her canine siblings.Gracie does okay on lead, is crate trained and working on house manners. She has a wonderful temperament and has been socialized with men, women and older children.Gracie found herself along with her 8 sibling in a high kill shelter after hew owner passed away.Unfortunately, only 3 made it out and are residing in an LLR foster home.Gracie appears to be well socialized and really loves to be around people. She is nervous upon meeting new people and in new surroundings, but she does warm up quickly and will make a great family companion. She is a gentle girl and will do great with some basic obedience skills.
Gracie is spayed, heartworm negative, up-to-date on all vaccinations. She is micro chipped, and current on heartworm, flea and tick preventive. If you are interested in making this special girl part of your family, please fill out an online application and request her on the notes section.
Cooper is a big, hunky, handsome, 8-year-old chocolate Lab boy.He is a medium energy boy and was surrendered to Lucky Lab Rescue by his owners for being a typical lab boy (rather silly). He loves to chase squirrels and a standard 4 foot fence will not hold him when he is on a mission. He will need a taller fence or an electric fence or a commitment to leash walking (running) several times a day with doggy park activity. He is great with younger children and loves his people. He is great with other dogs and would love to eat the cat (so, no cats pleae). He is house trained, crate trained and shows good manners (no jumping, knows sit, and will share his food). This older guys is such the perfect gentleman. His foster mom LOVES him and would keep him for her own if she could. Cooper can go into any type of home. Don't let his age fool you, he doesn't act, feel or look like an 8-year-old guy.
Coper is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is micro chipped, on heartworm and flea prevention. If you are interested in this gentleman, please fill out an online application and request him in the notes section.
Meet Tizzy –Bailey and Tizzy have been together since they were puppies, sharing all the things that growing puppies share and were enjoying supposedly the good life, until their owners had to move and the landlord said ‘no’ to Bailey and Tizzy.Their lives changed drastically when they were then dumped in a rural shelter with no regard for their bleak future.Fortunately for them, Lucky Lab was there and they are getting a second chance.
Tizzy is a sweet little girl beagle and is about 7 or 8 years old.She is a tad overweight, but loves to go for long walks and now that the weather is getting better, she should slim down with more outdoor exercise. When she sees the leash come out, oh boy, watch out – she does the beagle boogie raring to go for that walk. She is a pretty quiet, easy-going girl and loves the praise she gets from her foster mom.She gets along extremely well with other dogs and is very cat friendly.Tizzy is fully vetted and up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies. She is also crate trained.
She would be a perfect companion for an older couple or single person looking for companionship. Please consider giving Tizzie a loving home and companionship. She very much deserves it.Indicate Tizzie in the notes section of the online adoption application if you can make the rest of her life a good one.
Maggie is a beautiful and very sweet girl who is about 3 to 4 years old.She is very friendly and loves to play with all the foster doggies.Maggie is an average size for a female lab and weighs about 65 lbs.Maggie is house trained, crate trained, socialized with men, women and children, but NO cats. She gets along great with other canines. She loves to play fetch, loves the water, and loves to get good girl treats. She hangs with her foster brothers who are no match for her witty charm and playful attitude. She is the type of dog that can play well, but can calm down when needed.Maggie has a bit of a urinary condition which is controlled through diet and a special dog food prescribed by our vet. This does not affect her much at all, but her system forms crystal in her urine, which causes her to urinate more often. However, with her prescription food, she does not have a problem and is a perfect healthy wonderful girl.
Maggie would be good in most situations and will be a great companion dog for a runner, walker or hiker. She is such a good girl and loves to be with humans (especially the one that carries the bag of treats). She is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is being kept on heartworm and flea prevention and is also micro-chipped. If interested in giving this sweet girl the wonderful life she deserves, please mention Maggie in the notes section of your online application.
Meet our wonderful non-Lab boy, Clayton. He is a sophisticated, but oh so goofy boy. Clayton is such a love bug to the humans, playful and endearing, tidy and neat. He is a 2-3 year old Pitbull mix and very bonded to his human foster parents. Clayton gets along with cats and some other dogs. He will not be a good dog for a dog park and should be the only dog for a family looking for a loving family member. Clayton has been socialized with men, women and older children and will not be placed in a home with younger children due to his breed (not his temperament). He loves to be affectionate with his foster mom and can not wait until it is his turn to get loved on by his foster mom and dad (and stinky human kid).
Clayton is crate trained, house trained, knows sit and is extremely smart. He is also very loyal to his family and will make a great addition to a family with older children (16 and up) or a single person looking for a great companion. Clayton actually loves to play with his foster kid and is very gentle with the humans. He loves to chase the Kong ball or enjoy it with peanut butter inside, lay on a cozy bed, but most of all, he loves back scratches and belly rubs. Clayton is heartworm negative, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and is currently on heartworm prevention and flea treatment, plus he is microchipped. If you would like to make this wonderful and deserving boy part of you world, please fill out an online application and request him in the notes section.
