How to Help

Facebook
Fostering: A tenet of the mission of Lucky Lab is to ensure the safety and care of our dogs not just to the point of adoption, but for the life of the dog. There are times when even the best-intentioned families need to surrender their dog for one reason or another. In these instances, Lucky Lab relies on its network of foster families to step in and care for that dog until a permanent family is found. Fostering can be challenging at first but, in the end, extremely rewarding.

Event Volunteers: From time to time, Lucky Lab holds fundraising events that require volunteers. Whether it's an afternoon dog wash, an event sponspored by a local restaurant, or some other fun-filled, dog-friendly occasion, we always need volunteers to roll up their sleeves and help out!

Fundraising: As always, there are many expenses in caring for rescued dogs from food, vet care, collars, leashes, cages and general day-to-day items needed to take care of each dog. Our adoption fees usually do not cover all of our expenses so we rely on donations and fundraising events. We are looking for creative individuals to brainstorm unique ideas and solicit donations for auction items and other contributions from the community.

Grant Writing: We are looking for someone experienced in the grant writing for non-profits that can either write or consult on our grant writing efforts.

Professionals: As we focus all of our efforts on saving Labs, we need additional help with back-office services such as updating our website, graphic design, accounting, marketing, and publicity.

If you are able to help in any of these areas, please contact Christy at christy@luckylabrescuema.com.

Success Story: Duncan

DuncanDuncan bounded off the transport van and into my life in October 2008. His immense energy, unconditional love, and gentle soul have added so much love and joy to my world. Duncan enjoys nothing more than playing ball, taking a swim, and going for long hikes. At the end of a day, he loves to cuddle on the couch - he is my hundred-pound lap dog! There isn't a day that goes by that I am not eternally grateful to Lucky Lab for saving Duncan and bringing us together. - Christy Glover
