MARCH 2009 - Maaco's been great. It's hard to believe its only been a couple of months as it feels like he's been with us for much longer. He has it pretty good. A typical day starts off with Jill getting up and letting the boys out. They both come back to bed and sleep with me until I get up. I feed them both, they are really good about sticking to their own bowls during meal time. Maaco and Toby usually play for a bit after breakfast until they both take their morning naps in the spare bedroom. They then spend their afternoons chewing on bones, wrestling with each other, and usually once a day they chase each other through the house. After their dinner, we take them outside and play some ball. The hidden fence has been great as they can be out more with us. They both get a treat in their Kong every night. Then they both sit on the couch with Jill and I to watch a little TV. It's been amazing to see how comfortable Maaco and Toby are together. At times they literally lay on top of each other and are hardly apart during the day.
He is playing with more toys and chewing on bones more often. If he needs some attention during the day he just comes in my office and sits next to me, takes his nose and yanks my arm of the desk to pet him, so of course I do. My favorite is when I am on the couch sometimes he jumps up next to me, lifts my arm up with his nose and puts his head under my arm.Anyways, that’s pretty much it. We are really looking forward to the summer so we can be out more with the dogs. We spend a lot of time outside in the summers hanging out on the back deck. I am especially looking forward to taking Maaco to the lake and seeing how he does with the water and pontoon boat rides.
Thanks!
Craig
JANUARY 2009 - We love Lucy (fka Lu Lu) dearly. She is sweet, playful, and affectionate. We are amazed by her intelligence - how quickly she learns new words and figures out how to work a situation to her advantage. She makes us laugh every day, and we have countless "Lucy stories" to share with family and friends. One of our favorites involves my friend's infant son. Recently, my friend and her little guy came over for dinner. Lucy was fascinated by the baby, and he thought she was hilarious. At one point, when he got fussy, Lucy brought him her "toys" to cheer him up. And, it worked! He giggled and cooed and thought she was great. It was a big decision to adopt her, but she is now an integral part of our family and we couldn't imagine life without her. Many thanks to Lucky Labs for taking such great care of their dogs and for connecting them with families!
