TargetTarget
Target is a 4 to 6 year old purebred black lab. This handsome guy was allowed to run loose in TN.  Therefore, Animal Control picked him up. The owner didn’t want to pay the reclaim fee for this sweet boy. So, LLR stepped in and brought him to safety. Target is a laid back guy who is very social and gets along great with other dogs. He enjoys car rides and loves just hanging out with his people. His foster mom says that he keeps getting even sweeter every day and is very calm and never barks.  He is very smart and really wants to please. Target loves to play ball and is very athletic. He ignores his 3 foster feline siblings. He has house manners, knows his basic commands and is crate trained. At approximately 55 pounds, he is considered mid size. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccines including rabies. He is heartworm negative and micro-chipped.   He is also on flea, tick and heartworm preventatives. Target is just a wonderful boy who is looking for a home and family to call his own. If you would like to adopt Target, please fill out an on line application and request him on the notes section.

TuukkaTuukkaTuukka
Tuukka is a gorgeous 10 month old yellow lab mix. He is so very gorgeous, sweet, lovable and will make a great family pet. Tuukka is good with other dogs and loves to play, go to the beach, run, tackle and have a great time. He is also very good in the house as he is house trained, likes to sleep with his humans in their bed (we consider this a good thing) and is loving to his foster mommy and daddy. He takes treats nicely and loves to get them for being such a good boy. His foster mom likes to take him to the beach, hikes in the woods and around the neighborhood to meet all of his doggy neighbors. Tuukka doesn't like to be crated, but can be trusted outside of the crate. He is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, microchipped, and heartworm negative. He is kept on frontline and heartgard and is being fostered north of Boston. If you are interested in meeting this awesome boy, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

QBallQBall
What a handsome boy! QBall is a young boy about 1 to 2 years old, has long slender legs and weighs about 65 lbs. He possibly has some Great Dane (?). QBall is your all around good boy who loves people, other dogs, and just loves life. Like all labbie boys, QBall loves getting his ears rubbed and head scratched. He is such a sweet boy and one look into those beautiful brown eyes will melt your heart. QBall would be considered a medium (maybe high medium) energy boy and is also crate trained. He would love nothing more than to have a wonderful family to call his very own and children to romp with. QBall would be a great companion for any family, as he has been well socialized with men, women and older children. Not sure about the kitties, but we can cat test if necessary. QBall would make a great hiking and walking companion and I am sure he would love to go for a romp on the beach and take a refreshing dip in the water. After a day of activity he would be ready to crash in front of the TV with his people. And, he would be a definite hit at obedience classes as he is a very smart boy. QBall is neutered, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped. He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative. If you are interested in learning more about this handsome boy, please indicate QBall in the notes section of the online application.

ReeseReeseReese

Reese is the sweetest and happiest girl on earth. She is a 3 year old chocolate girl who weighs about 60 pounds.  Reese found herself in a really bad spot on death row at a nasty kill shelter. She was surrendered by her owners, like most, for no good reason at all.  She even followed her owners into the shelter.  Lucky for her, Lucky Lab came to her rescue.  Reese has a very important role in her foster home.  She has adopted Baby Jasmine (lab puppy) as her baby. She has taken such good care of her and has shown her how to be a good labbie girl.  Reese would be considered medium energy and she loves to take walks and play fetch, but is always up for a good cuddle on the couch.  Reese is a big time cuddler at night too.  She snuggles up between her foster Mommy and Daddy and doesn't move all night.  She walks very well on her leash and also does excellent off leash in the appropriate non-traffic area.  She would be a great beach or hiking partner.  Reese lives in a foster home with lots of other doggies and does well, but would prefer a doggie brother as she is a little dominant with other females.   She also lives with a kitty, but is just a little too curious about them. We feel that Reese would also do well with children. This girl has stolen her foster parent’s hearts and will be missed, but deserves a home of her very own.  Her fosters parents just can't say enough good things about this special girl.  Reese is spayed, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped.  She is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  She is house broken and crate trained.   If you would be interested in hearing more about sweet Reese, please indicate her in the notes section of the online application.

HarperHarper
Harper is a beautifully awesome all around black labbie boy.  He is about 1 to 2 years old and weighs about 70 lbs.   Harper has all the great characteristics that you would look for in a young lab.  He loves attention, loves to play, loves to fetch the tennis ball, loves to go for walks, loves to give kisses and just basically loves to be around his people.  Harper would love nothing more than to have a wonderful family to call his very own.  He would be a great companion for any family, as he has been well socialized with men, women and children.  We are not sure about the kitties, but can cat test if necessary.  He would be considered a medium energy boy and is crate trained.  We are sure that hiking and swimming would also be at the top of his “things I love to do” list along with just hanging out with his people.  Obedience classes would be a breeze for this boy and he would certainly be the star of the class. Harper is neutered, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.   He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  If you are interested in learning more about this really great boy, please indicate Harper in the notes section of the online application.

PercyPercyPercy
Percy is a big, beautiful, blond boy, about 2 years old and weighing in at about 80 lbs.  He was found wandering about, all by himself, and was taken to a local high kill shelter.  What an awful place for such an awesome boy and thank goodness he is not there anymore.  Percy is a laid back low to medium energy boy who loves everyone.  One look into those soft warm eyes will definitely steal your heart.  He is great with other dogs, people of all ages and probably even the kitties.  I doubt if he would hurt a fly, he is so gentle.   Percy likes to romp and play and run around the yard with his foster brothers and sisters.  He does wonderfully on the leash and is a pleasure to walk with.  This guy is a big love bug and loves to cuddle and get hugs and just be with his people.  Percy would love nothing more than to have a wonderful family to call his very own.  He would be a great companion for any family - from the young family with children, to empty nesters or a single person looking for a loving buddy.  Percy is neutered, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.   He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  Percy is also crate trained.  If you are interested in learning more about this really amazing boy, please indicate Percy in the notes section of the online application.

HunterHunter
Hunter is a 1 year old 50 pound adorable black labby mix who loves to cuddle and please the people in his life.  There never has been a dog happier than Hunter to be out of a shelter.  His whole face lit up into one big happy smile when his paws hit the grass.  Hunter gets along well with other dogs and is having tremendous fun learning how to be a dog.  He was in absolute heaven when he was given his first squeaky Huntertoy.  His foster mom says that he is a wonderful family dog and loves everyone that he meets.  He is a quick learner and has already mastered his basic commands.  He is crate and house trained.  Hunter is neutered, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccinations including rabies, micro-chipped and ready to find his forever home. If you are interested in bringing this sweet boy into your family, please indicate Hunter in the notes section of the online application.

HoustonHoustonHouston
Houston is an 85 pound bundle of burnin' love. Thankfully, Houston was saved from a shelter before his time ran out because this hombre will make someone an all-star companion. This gentle giant is about 3 years old, which means he is out of his puppy stage and in the prime of his life. Houston's foster has nicknamed him "Clinger" as he just follows her around at the hip just to hang out and making sure that he is not missing anything. He loves to cuddle in the bed and just be loved. He gets along great with children and other dogs. Calm, collected, loyal, and balance are all descriptive of Houston's personality. He is house trained and knows his manners. Everyone who has met this guy has only great things to say and we are sure he will be an excellent lifetime best friend. Upon coming into LLR, Houston has been neutered, vaccinated, treated for heartworm and is on heartworm preventative. He is also microchipped. If you would like to handsome guy, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

NubbyWubbyChubby Bubby Puppies

The Chubby Bubbies are the BEST.  These little chubbers came from a high kill shelter and LLR could not bear for them not to get a chance at life.  There are 6 awesome pups and they are all boys.  We have Nubby, and Wubby still available.  Their foster mom gets such a kick out of watching these gorgeous babies run around with their chubby bums and play with each other.  THE CUTEST! They are very smart puppies and have already identified the area in their puppy playpen to use the restroom, keeping their pen clean for them to play.  They are very well socialized with humans and cannot wait to be picked up by their human foster mommy to get kisses on the head and pats on the back.  They are lovable and just so darn chubby and cute! If you would like to have a chubby bubby running around your house, please fill out an adoption application and request them on the notes section.

Black JackBlack JackBlack Jack
Black Jack is a 2-3 year old black lab boy and he is big.  He is very tall and buxom, weighing in at about 85 -90lbs.  He is one gorgeous dude too.  Black Jack was an owner surrender to a high kill shelter and LLR agreed to save this hansome fellow.  He is such a good boy and knows a few commands like sit, he walks well on lead, takes treats very gently, and is super lovable.  He would be a great dog in a home with older children, men, women and other dogs.  He can be a bit dominant with other dogs, but not aggressive.  He will need to be cat tested if any cat owners are interested in this boy.  Black Jack is house trained and waiting for a place to call his own.  We have no idea why he was surrenered and suspect that his family must  have fallen on hard times because we can not fathom anyone wanting to give up this great lab.  He is well mannered and does not jump on his humans.  He loves to lay on a doggie bed and to get his treats.  He would be considered a mild to medium energy boy and would do great just laying around the house or going for hikes, runs and walks.  Black Jack is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is also microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt Black Jack, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

TobyTobyToby
**Courtesy Posting**
Toby is a sweet black lab mix who is about 1 1/2 years old and weighs about 30 lbs.  He is a sweet boy and is excellent with children.  Toby is fully house-trained/kennel-trained/leash-trained and loves going for walks.  This boy has many great qualities, but he is very skiddish and fearful around men and we suspect that he was abused by a man before he was rescued from the shelter.  This boy would do wonderfully in a home with women and children and with someone who has the patience and understanding to work with him on his trust of men.  He is not aggressive toward men, but he cowers and trembles when in their company.  Toby just needs a loving home with a fenced-in yard and room to play. Toby is heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies, and neutered.  If interested in giving Toby the happy life he deserves, please fill out an application an indicate ‘Black Toby’ in the notes section.

HarryHarryHarry
Harry is about 1 year old and weighs about 60lbs.  We believe that Harry is a mix of a lab and German Shepherd.  He is a handsome boy and definitely has that wonderful Lab personality, but in the body of a German Shepherd.   Harry just can't help himself.  This guy was born to play and have fun.   Always ready to go have a good time he finds happiness with a space to run and romp.   When he gets a chance he loves to swim in a local pond.   Harry will need an owner who will understand that he has lots of energy and will need lots of exercise and time just to be rowdy!   Commands are understood by this guy and he seems to have good recall.  Probably not a good idea to have him around cats as he may play a little too rough and he should xbe properly introduced to other male dogs as he learns to interact with them appropriately. If you're looking for a dog that will never allow a dull moment, then Harry may just be your new best buddy. Harry is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped.  He has been kept on Frontline and Heartgard.  He is a great boy and will definitely keep you amused.  If interested in learning how Harry could become your best buddy, complete the online application and indicate Harry in the notes section.

AmmoAmmoAmmo

Ammo is a beautiful black boy about 1 to 2 years old.  Our guess is that he may have some cocker spaniel in him as he is a smaller boy weighing about 35 to 40 lbs.  Ammo is a cautious little fella until he gets comfortable in his environment.   He is quick to roll over for a submissive belly rub at any approach.   He is active and likes to be in charge of his area.   Ammo wants to be an alpha but we're not sure that he is up to the task.    He is always looking for some companionship - this guy gets along well with other dogs, but hasn't been tested with cats yet.   He has a happy bouncing personality that is sure to light up a room and be the hit at any dog party. Ammo is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on vaccinations including rabies and micro-chipped.  This boy is also crate trained.  He is a smart boy who would excel in training classes and would probably be the star of the class.  If you would be interested in learning how Ammo could become part of your family, please indicate him in the notes section of the online application.

BenBenGentle Ben
Gentle Ben is just that.  He is a great, sweet, loving and GENTLE boy.  He is about 1-2 years old and will do good in most households.  He has been socialized with men, women, older children, other dogs and is okay with the cats.  Ben will be a great dog to take through some basic obedience as he is super smart, treat oriented, and eager to please his human.  He is crate trained and working on house manners, he does not jump on  his humans, he takes treats nicely and LOVES to be coddled, which his foster mom does quite frequently because he is such a good boy.  He would be classified as a medium energy boy, but would love to do any activity his humans do just so he could be with them.  What an awesome boy and such a gem.  He would like nothing but his very own family who love him to pieces and he makes it very easy to do that.  Ben is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and Heartgard. If you would like to adopt Ben, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

HappyHappyHappy
Cutie patootey, Happy is a great boy and so handsome too.  Happy is about 2 and is just that, a very happy dog.  Just to look at him makes everyone around him happy too.  He has a great temperament and gets along with just about everyone, men, women, children, other dogs, and cats.  He is awesome and any family would be lucky to have him as part of their everyday.  He is average size weighing about 65lbs.  He is gentle, loving and would be classified as medium energy.  Happy would be great at any outdoor activities including going to the local dog park or beach for a swim.  He would also like to have a dog bed of his very own to just relax and hang out with his people maybe chewing on a nice compressed rawhide bone.  Happy is crate trained and walks okay on lead, however, he would benefit from some additional obedience training and will make a stellar student as he is one smart cookie.  Happy is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you are interested in adopting this fine young man, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

MylieMylieMylie
There is only one word to describe Mylie and that is PRECIOUS.  Mylie is a sweet little girl who somehow found herself in a very bad high kill shelter.  She is about 6 months old and weighs in at 14 lbs.  No, she is not a lab, but she is definitely a cutie.   Mylie gets along very well with all the other dogs and people including children.  She is in a foster home with several other big lab fosters and she holds her own with all of them.  Mylie loves to lay on the floor and mouth wrestle with her big sister Myka.  She is such a good girl in the house and is pretty quiet and laid back for her age.  She is also just about house trained.  What a girl!  Little Mylie likes to go for walks, romp and play with the other dogs, then snuggle up on the couch for a nice nap. Mylie is spayed, up to date on her vaccinations and micro-chipped. She is also on flea/tick preventative and heartworm preventative, and crate trained.   Mylie is a truly awesome little girl and if you just can’t resist that sweet little face, please indicate Mylie in the notes section of the online application.  She will make the perfect addition to any family and fill your home with lots of love.

DuchessDuchess

Sweet Sweet Duchess is also quite the comedian.  She is a very sweet spirited young lab mix about 1 1/2 years old.  She gets along well with other dogs and loves to play.  She loves her humans too and her face brightens up when her foster mommy walks in the room. She is the kind of dog who just makes you smile and laugh because she has the cutest mannerisms and comedian like behavior.  Duchess is a medium to high energy girl and will do well with obedience training as she is a smart girl.  She is on the small side weighing only about 45lbs.  Poor girl found herself in a very high kill shelter and as most of you know, black mixes have the highest euthanasia rates.  Luckily for her we decided to take her out of that plight and give her a chance at a happy life with a loving family.  Duchess will do well with a family that is active and older children.  She has been socialized with men, women and older children and can be cat tested if needed.  Our guess is that she will think the kitties are play toys, but probably not aggressive, however to be sure, we can test her if needed. She will need help on leash walking, but takes treats nicely and is crate trained.  Duchess is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative .  She is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you are interested in this sweet funny girl, please complete an online application and request her in the notes section.

MaxwellMaxwellMaxwell
This boy is an extremely beautiful 2 to 3 year old black lab and weighs in at 75lbs. Maxwell is your all around good boy who loves people, other dogs, and just loves life. He loves attention, he loves to play, he loves to fetch the tennis ball and most of all loves to be around his people.  His foster mom talks about how excited he gets when she tells him what a good boy he is and gives him one of those yummy good boy treats and, like all labs, he loves getting his ears rubbed and head scratched.   He does settle down very nicely after playtime and he would be considered a medium energy boy.  Maxwell would love nothing more than to have a wonderful family to call his very own.  He would be a great companion for any family, as he has been well socialized with men, women and older children.  Maxwell would make a great hiking and walking companion and I am sure he would love to go for a romp on the beach and take a refreshing swim. Like most of these guys coming out of shelters, he would need some reinforcement of manners and obedience, but he is a smart boy and learns very quickly. Maxwell is neutered, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, heartworm negative and micro-chipped.   He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  Maxwell is also crate trained.  If you are interested in learning more about this really great boy, please indicate Maxwell in the notes section of the online application.

BronsonBronsonBronson
Bronson is a beautiful buxom chocolate lab boy.  He is just stunning.  He is average size about 65lbs and is about 2yrs old.  Bronson is great with humans and has been socialized with men, women, and older children.  He gets along with other dogs and can be cat tested if necessary.  Bronson does have a bit of an odd issue that will need to be worked out with his new family.  When on a leash, he tends to go after other dogs in an aggressive manner, but it is really strange as he is very friendly with other dogs off leash and does well in his play group.  It is a leash thing.  Its odd, but he still a great boy.  Aside from that issue, he is very loving with his humans and will make a great dog for a family with older children (12+).  Our guess is that this issue can be worked out with a firm handler and an experienced dog owner who will help him be a gentelmen on the leash.  Bronson seems to have good house manners and is crate trained.  He is a strong boy, but takes treats nicely and is fairly well behaved.  Bronson loves chew bones and getting treats and plays so nicely with his foster siblings.  He is a real gem - the leash thing.  Bronson is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you are interested in adopting this buxom boy, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

RinaRinaRina
We named Rina because she reminds her foster mommy of a ballerina.  Rina is about 1.5 years old and weighs about 45 to 50lbs.  Rina comes inside after hours of playtime and just prances so gracefully and lovingly to her foster mom (hence, ballerina).  It is so funny and makes her foster mom smile every time she does it.  She is very loving and just loves to be loved on.  She gets along well with other dogs and can be cat tested.  Rina can be a bit food aggressive with other dogs, but definitely not humans as her foster mom constantly takes things out of her mouth and plays with her food while she is eating.  Rina is a pitbull mix and was spared an untimely death when her foster mom took pity on her as she was in the room to be euthanized and could not bare to let this happen to her so decided to take her on.  She was then sprung from the shelter and accepted into Lucky Lab Rescue.  She was worth the save, as they all are, and we can not wait for her to find her new forever home.  She is mild mannered, but loves to play with her canine foster siblings.  Rina is also very smart and will excel at obedience training and probably outshine all the other dogs in her class.  Rina is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  She is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you are interested in adopting this great girl, please complete an online application and request her on the notes section.

ChrissyChrissyChrissy

Cutie Chrissy is such a nice girl.  Chrissy is probably a lab/shep mix and is a young girl about 1 year old.  She has a very sweet personality and is very very pretty.  Chrissy is average size about 55 to 60 lbs and has a very sleek shiny black coat.  Her eyes are gorgeous amber in color and just glisten in the sun.  She loooooves her human attention and loooves to play with her foster siblings.  She gets along well with other dogs and does good in a play group.  Chrissy is gentle, does not jump and is crate trained.  She does okay on lead and takes treats nicely.  She can be bossy with other dogs, but gets along with everyone she has been introduced too.  She has been socialized with men, women and older children and can be cat tested if needed.  Chrissy is super smart and will train very easily.  Chrissy is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  She is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt this beautiful girl, please complete an online application and request them on the notes section.

BuddyBuddyBuddy

Another great boy!  Buddy is a fabulous black lab and very handsome.  He is about 1 and a half, tall and slender, and has a great lab temperment.  Buddy is currently working on house manners, but is crate trained and loves to be loved on by his humans.  Buddy will need to learn some obedience skills which include leash walking and basic skills as any young lab will need.  He is an active boy and will do great in most family situations.  He is good with other dogs and has been socialized with men, women and older children.  Buddy can be cat tested if needed, but our guess is that he would view them as fuzzy play toys so kitty beware.  He loves to play fetch, chew on nylabones and kong balls and would love to have a human to hang with.  He would be another great dog who would love to run, hike, swim and do all kinds of fun doggy stuff.  Buddy has a great time with his foster brother, Fetch, as they run, tackle and get rough and tumble.  Buddy would also like to have a dog bed of his own where can be calm and chew on a nice compressed rawhide bone.  As most labs, he will be a great addition to any family.  He will need appropriate young lab boy exercise but is ready to meet his new family.  Buddy is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt this fine young boy, please complete on online application and request him on the notes section.

SullySullySully
This boy is an extremely awesome 1 ½ to 2 year old black (what we believe to be) Scottish Deer Hound.   He weighs about 60 lbs and is tall and slender.  Sully was found in a corner kennel at a local kill shelter where he went unnoticed.  Lucky Lab was there picking up a lab and our volunteer spotted this boy and it was ‘love at first sight’.  He was to be euthanized the next day and that was just not going to happen.  Not this time.  Sully is tall, with long slender legs, a nub for a tail, cute little whiskers under his chin and beautiful warm brown eyes that will melt your heart.  He is your all around good boy who loves people.  He is now in a foster home with several other canine foster siblings and is very well behaved.   Sully likes to run in the yard and settles down nicely in the house, and wants to be close to his foster mom and get hugs, which he gets a lot of  because his foster mom thinks he is the best.  He likes to lie on the floor close to her and help with the dishes, dusting, watching TV.  He would be a great companion for any family, as he has been well socialized with men, women and children.  Sully would make a great hiking and walking companion and we are sure he would love to go for a romp on the beach.  He would not be good with kitties though as he is way too interested in them. Sully is neutered, heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccines including rabies, and micro-chipped.   He is also on flea and tick preventative and heartworm preventative.  Sully is also crate trained.   If you are interested in learning more about this really great boy, please indicate Sully in the notes section of the online application.

TrippTrippTripp
Tripp is a wonderful, stable-minded young man and is about 3 years old.  He is small for a typical lab and is about 50lbs.  He is a very attractive yellow boy with a hint of black on his tail.  We are not sure what he is mixed with but are suspecting a bit of hound, however, he is mostly lab.  He is very friendly and gets along with everyone.  He has not been cat tested yet, but if needed, he can be.  He is well socialized with women, men and older children and will do well in most family situations.  He is gentle with humans, does not jump, takes treats nicely, walks okay on lead and knows how to sit on command.  He is crate trained and seemingly house trained.  He loves getting good boy treats and will be great in obedience classes as he is very smart.  Tripp is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt this wonderful boy, please complete an online application and request him on the notes section.

PeteyPeteyPetey
Pistol Pete is one handsome dude.  His name makes him sound rambunctious, but he is a sweet and very nice puppy.  He does have typical puppy energy and will need obedience skills and appropriate puppy exercise, but he is a really good boy and will make a great family member.  He is crate trained and working on house manners.  He loves it when his foster mom holds him and he just sits in her arms with his head on her shoulder.  Petey is a 4 month old lab mix pup and came from a horrible situation.  He was a stray, sickly and in a shelter that was down right deplorable.  He came to LLR and with some TLC, he is now a stunning, well adjusted, healthy young boy.  He loves to play, is quiet in his crate, and loves to get those good boy treats.  He is socialized with men, women and older children and will do great with other dogs and cats too.  Petey is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt this nice young man, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

WolfieRooWolfie
(adopted)
& Roo
Wolfie (male) and Roo (female) are about 4 to 5 months old and came from a high kill shelter.  They are believed to be shep/lab mix puppies and are completely awesome.  Both are very well temempered and very loving.  Roo is a bit more shy then her brother, Wolfie, but she warms up quickly and loves her human attention.  It is such a blast to watch them play with their foster siblings.  They tuck butt and run around the yard, but when they come in, the are gentle and mild mannered.  Both are crate trained, very smart and do okay on lead.  They are puppies and will need that puppy exercise, but they will make wonderful family or companion dogs. They like the water and have so much fun splashing around in the kiddie pool that their foster mommy bought for them.  Wolfie and Roo are well socialized and get along with everyone.  They can be cat tested, but our best guess is that they will do okay with the kitties as well.  Both are altered, up to date on all vaccinations and are heartworm negative.  They are microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt one or both of these sweet pups, please fill out on online application and request them on the notes section.

AliceAliceAlice
Hi! My name is Alice and I just had the best news last week. My foster mom took me to the doc (vet) and I was declared heartworm free and ready for adoption. I spent four months in treatment to get "clean" and am sure glad it is over. I am small, weigh 32 lbs and have a tail; you just can't see it because I wag it all the time.I am a very happy dog, love to play and have human attention. My ears are long and I love to jump up, not on, but up. It is like I have springs in my knees. I love it here at my fosters' and will love it with you in your home. I am up-to-date with my shots, spayed, microchipped and on monthly heartworm prevention. The Harts, my humans, have always fed me high-quality food and provided water and treats. Zane is a 1 1/2 year old boy who is so adorable.  His personality matches his looks and he is literally happy all the time.  He is a lively boy and will make a great partner for anyone with an active lifestyle.  He is young and considered a medium energy boy for his age, but will need daily appropriate labby exercise.  He would do great at running with his human, hiking, definitely swimming, and just hanging around with his family.  He gets along well with other dogs, not so much with the kitty cats, but has been socialized with men, women and older children.  He loves to get the human attention and just soaks up any good boy praise and loves it when his foster mom gives him treats.  Zane came into LLR from a high kill shelter and was heartworm positive.  We took him anyway as he really needed to get out of the shelter and to be treated for this very treatable condition.  Many shelters will euthanize dogs with heartworm first as they know that no on will want to adopt him and pay for the treatment.  Regardless, he is with us and has been successfully treated and has a clean bill of health by his vet.  Zane knows sit, but  needs some help with leash walking as he does tend to pull.  He is a strong boy and is very smart making obedience training a breeze as he learns quickly.  Zane is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you are interested in this wonderful good-looking boy, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

StaloneStaloneStalone
Stalone is big and braun and beautiful. He is very stocky and just buxom weighing about 80lbs. We think he is about 4 or 5 years old and has a nice temperment. He is mild mannered and would be considered a medium energy boy as well. He came from a very very high kill shelter and well......... being that he is big and black, his chances were pretty slim at a future until LLR got a hold of him. Now he will have a bright future and will make a nice family very happy. It seems to me that someone has cared about this boy in his past as he is healthy and really likes the people. He can be a bit shy in new surroundings, but then again, so can I. He is very very smart and has learned the routine at his foster home very quickly. He is so happy when his foster mom gives him attention and rubes his head. She also gives him plenty of smooches (how embarrising) and good boy treats. He will need work on lead as he is very strong and tends to pull , he takes treats nicely and knows a few commands. He would definately benefit from obedience classes to help brush up on his gentlemanly skills and will need to have a frim handler. He is crate trained and seemingly house trained. He really does not fetch and would be best laying on a dog bed chewing his bones and would absolutely love a nice walk around the neighborhood. Stalone has been socialized with men, women, and older children. He can be a bit bossy, but does get along with other dogs and can be cat tested in needed. Stalone is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard. If you are intrested in this buxom boy, please fill out an online application and request him on the notes section.

ScottyScottyScotty Dog
Scotty Dog was going to go to research (to us, far worse then being euthanized at the shelter, which is also bad). Who knows what would have happened to him, being kept in a cage is whole life, being poked with needles and test for all kinds of harmful stuff. It is a very physically and emotionally painful life and we just could not let this boy face that awful fate so we took him. Scotty is a nice boy, and is great with other dogs. He is very sweet with humans and has been socialized with older children, men and women and he can be cat tested if needed. Scotty can be very playful or he can just lay next to his peeps and hang out chewing on a bone. We believe him to be about 2 years old and is on the smaller side weighing about 55lbs. His coat is very shiny and silky and he is strkingly handsome. He is part lab and part we have no idea (maybe collie or spaniel), but is 100% sweet and would love to be a viable family member who is free to be loved and to love (and get lots of yummy treats and a doggy bed of his very own). Scotty is crate trained and working on house manners. He is okay on lead, does not jump on his humans and takes treats nicely. He loves to run after the ball, but looses intrest quickly. Scotty would be a nice dog to take on long walks allowing him to explore the world or would be great to just have his very own back yard to play in with his human. Scotty is neutered, up to date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative. He is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard. Please fill out an online application and request this boy in the notes section.

TobytobyToby
Toby is a gorgeous yellow purebred boy about 3 years old.  He is a big boy who is tall and slender and weighs about 70lbs. Toby is a medium to high-energy boy and would do great in basic obedience classes.  He is smart, funny and has such a wonderful spirit about him.  He can be a bit bossy, but gets along with other dogs very well. Toby loves to romp and play with his foster siblings and to play fetch with the Kong ball.  He also loves the water and would have a great time running on the beach and swimming.  He has been socialized with men, women and older children and can be cat tested if needed.  Toby would make a great walking, running and hiking partner for the active person.  He loves people and would be your loyal companion. Maggie 1Maggie 2Maggie
Maggie is a beautiful and very sweet girl who is about 3 to 4 years old.  She is very friendly and loves to play with all the foster doggies.  Maggie is an average size for a female lab and weighs about 65 lbs.  Maggie is house trained, crate trained, socialized with men, women and children, but NO cats.  She gets along great with other canines.  She loves to play fetch, loves the water, and loves to get good girl treats.  She hangs with her foster brothers who are no match for her witty charm and playful attitude.  She is the type of dog that can play well, but can calm down when needed.  Maggie has a bit of a urinary condition which is controlled through diet and a special dog food prescribed by our vet.  This does not affect her much at all, but her system forms crystal in her urine, which causes her to urinate more often.  However, with her prescription food, she does not have a problem and is a perfect healthy wonderful girl.  Maggie would be good in most situations and will be a great companion dog for a runner, walker or hiker.  She is such a good girl and loves to be with humans (especially the one that carries the bag of treats).  She is spayed, up-to-date on all vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  She is being kept on heartworm and flea prevention and is also micro-chipped.  If interested in giving this sweet girl the wonderful life she deserves, please mention Maggie in the notes section of your online application

JENNYJENNYJenny
(adoption pending)
Jenny is ‘The Perfect Dog’.  Jenny is about 6 years old and she is average size, weighing about 65lbs.  She is house trained, walks okay on lead and crate trained.  She gets along with everyone, men, women, children and even the kitties.  She plays mouth wrestle with her foster brother and sister, takes treats so gently and comes when she’s called.  Her most favorite toy is a good rawhide chip – she’ll take her time and enjoy every last morsel.  Her foster kitty brothers like her a lot because she has such a gentle nature and loving personality.  She loves her human grandchildren and patiently allows little hands to explore her fur. She’s also a professional  cuddler and is very very good at her job.   But don’t think she’s just a couch potato, she loves to romp and run outside – chasing leaves and grabbing sticks.   The perfectly balanced personality, Jenny will make a wonderful family member.  Jenny is spayed, up to date on all her vaccinations and is heartworm negative.  She is microchipped and kept on frontline and heartgard.  If you would like to adopt this great and gentle soul, please complete an online application and request her on the notes section.

Success Story: Duncan

DuncanDuncan bounded off the transport van and into my life in October 2008. His immense energy, unconditional love, and gentle soul have added so much love and joy to my world. Duncan enjoys nothing more than playing ball, taking a swim, and going for long hikes. At the end of a day, he loves to cuddle on the couch - he is my hundred-pound lap dog! There isn't a day that goes by that I am not eternally grateful to Lucky Lab for saving Duncan and bringing us together. - Christy Glover
